Woods Hires Former Bush Aide Ari Fleischer for Bay Hill Return
The NY Post's Mark Cannizzaro is reporting today that sources have told him that Ari Fleischer, former aide to President George W. Bush, is working with Tiger Woods on a media strategy for his return to the PGA Tour at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in a few weeks.
Most recently, Fleischer was asked to help the Bowl Championship Series improve its public profile. Part of his outreach included a Twitter account that was hammered by critics of the BCS.
Meanwhile, long time Woods friend Mark O'Meara has indicated that Woods may well first tee up in the hit-'n'-giggle Tavistock Cup just days prior to the Bay Hill event.
"I would not be surprised if Tiger plays," said O'Meara. "Hank [Haney, his coach] has come to town and they're working on stuff they normally work on. I know it's been a rough road these last three months for him and his family, but golf is what Tiger does. The Tavistock Cup might be a right fit to come back. Play that event and then, maybe, Bay Hill straight afterwards."
Indications seem to be pointing to a one-two punch of a Woods return: first a payback to the Isleworth community by playing in the Tavistock Cup matches, and then a quick turnaround to Bay Hill.
